What it does.

Two screens, one script

Open the operator view on your laptop and send the talent a link for their screen, tablet or phone. Publish the script and it lands on their screen instantly.

You drive, they read

Speed, font size, reader width, horizontal and vertical flip — all controlled from your side while they are reading. Arrow keys nudge the speed without touching the mouse.

Nothing to install

It runs in a browser on both ends. No app, no download, no cable — and with a monitor plugged into your laptop it works with no internet at all.

The talent needs no account

Their link just opens and reads. Only the person driving needs to be signed in.

Is it free?

Yes — Just Read It has a real free tier, not a trial that expires. Sign in free and you can run a two-screen read. The Starting Frame Membership ($24/month, 14-day free trial) adds a saved script library and session history.

Can two people use it at once — one reading, one controlling?

That is the whole point of it. The operator view and the reader view are separate screens on separate devices, connected live. The operator changes speed or font size and it updates on the reader instantly.

Does the person on camera need to install anything or make an account?

No. You send them a link, it opens full-screen in their browser, and they read. No app, no sign-up, nothing to configure on their end.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Plug a second monitor into your laptop and run both the operator and reader views on the one machine — no network involved. The shared-link mode is the part that needs a connection.

Can I use my own script from Word?

Yes — import a .docx and it loads straight in. You can also paste plain text, or type it in the browser.

Is there a watermark on anything?

No. Starting Frame never burns branding into what you make or what your talent sees.
